Zero waste trailblazers, Bonanza Thai, were one of our first ever food partners, taking part in a very early SWAP & WASH pilot using our First Gen reusable container. It went so well that Bonanza stayed on and have been operating a stand alone rePlated SWAP & WASH system ever since.
Bonanza Thai is a family run, eat-in restaurant and takeaway business in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. They have regular customers and have their own online ordering system and delivery driver. Bonanza Thai also take orders over the phone. This allowed them to create a single-use free delivery option for their customers.
How zero waste delivery works
Bonanza keep a pool of Mealboxes on site and when customers ask for SWAP, their chef puts the order in rePlated Mealboxes instead of single-use plastic containers. On delivery the customer exchanges (or ‘swaps’) their clean Mealboxes for the ones with their food order in them.
In addition to seeing an increase in takeaway sales, Bonanza have also generated additional income selling Mealboxes to their regular customers.
