The RePlated revolution launches in Waverley!

We’re excited to tell you that our lunch-boxes are now being sold on the shelves in Bellagio. And they’re being used at all the amazing local businesses, like Taste and Bonanza Thai, who have signed up to our grab, swap and wash system.

We have loved meeting you!

There's been an enthusiastic response to the lunchboxes and the swap system.

We pitched our stall at Bellagio. It was the perfect spot to hear feedback from regulars as they grabbed coffee and food. It's been great to learn more about what people want from a reusable system.

It's gratifying to hear how many people are thinking about the war on waste. From locals to the council. We hope this momentum continues to build.

So far, the participating food outlets are all in Charing Cross but new businesses come on board each week. And we're always ready to welcome more!

We'll be manning a stall at the Bondi markets in February. We'll let you know exactly when if you signup to our pilot emails and we'd love to see you there.

Please keep suggestions and super important feedback like this coming - it is so incredibly important to us as we craft the perfect product for the future of takeaway!

You can still hop on board the Waverley launch via the pilot webpage and sign up to our newsletter for updates (including our first market-stall).

Thanks again to Waverley council for helping us kickstart our reusable revolution.

Our recycled containers are Australian-made on Sydney's Northern Beaches. They contain recycled PET and glass they cost $25.

Once customers have bought a lunchbox and joined our RePlated system, the process is simple: every time you want a takeaway meal from a local participating restaurant, you bring in your container and then swap it for a clean one (that’s filled with your food!).

Waverley Council Grant

We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve been awarded a Waverley council environmental grant to go towards the Waverley pilot. This means that vendors who sign up to our swap system don’t have to pay for their stockpile of our reusable containers. It makes it even easier for everyone to start swapping right away.

The council grant is a great sign of support for eco-friendly, locally made solutions and we’re so grateful for the incredible community reception.

Our lids

One of the most important things about the Waverley pilot has been getting feedback from customers about how the lunchboxes are working for them. The launch has been about getting our containers to customers and seeing what works and what doesn’t work in the real world, and then making improvements from there.

One big thing that some people have noticed is that some dishwashers actually run too hot for the lids of our containers and they’re warping in the wash. We are so sorry about this! Please let us know if this has happened to you and we will give you a new lid.

We are already in the process of redesigning and manufacturing the lids to be completely dishwasher safe by making them out the same RPET/glass combination as the bases. As soon as they have been made, we will replace all the original design lids that have already been bought.

For now, we know that the lids are definitely safe in dishdrawers (like the Fisher-Paykel one). If you know that your dishwasher runs pretty hot or you don’t have a dishdrawer, the best bet for now would just be to hand-wash the lid but the base of your little-smasher is definitely good to go in any dishwasher!
